    The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is designed for everyone, regardless of prior shooting experience or NRA affiliation. It can be delivered in two formats: a traditional, instructor-led course that includes direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor over two days.

    Course Materials and Certification

    This comprehensive course aims to provide a solid foundation in pistol shooting, ensuring safety and proficiency for all participants.

     

    The Texas LTC course is also being offered as a single course, or a added course to the NRA Pistol course.

    The Texas License to Carry (LTC) course, a crucial training formerly known as the Concealed Handgun License (CHL) course, is a 4–6 hour classroom training and firearm qualification course. It equips students with the knowledge and skills to carry a handgun in public legally. The course covers essential topics such as:

    • Texas and federal laws: State and federal laws and regulations related to carrying a handgun, including open and concealed carry
    • Handgun safety: The course provides practical guidance on how to carry a gun safely, secure it when not in use, and stay safe at a shooting range. On-violent dispute resolution: How to avoid using a handgun and resolve conflicts without deadly force
    • Handgun storage: Storage options, legal requirements, and storage during transportation
    • Other topics: The seriousness of firearm ownership, safety rules, proper stance, hand positions, safety mechanisms, disengaging, talking down someone who is making violent threats, protecting yourself, submitting fingerprints for a background check, and paying a fee 

         Pizza Inn is a pizzeria and buffet chain offering several crust options, pasta, and more. It offers all-you-can-eat food. Lunch will be included in the course admission for both training days.

    Participants must be 21 years of age or older and must not have been convicted of a felony criminal offense to attend this course.

    Students must complete all payments online. All people interested in this course may register with any major credit card. Once payment is made, there will be no refunds. Once payment is made, a seat in the class will be automatically reserved with the venue.
